This class is designed for students in 5th-8th grade to explore the world of digital design. Through the use of popular design software such as AutoCAD, students will learn how to create and manipulate digital models of various objects and structures. They will also learn the basics of rendering, which is the process of adding color, texture, and lighting effects to their computer models to make them look more realistic. Throughout the course, students will be introduced to the principles of design and how they apply to digital modeling. They will also learn about scale, perspective, and measurement as they create their own virtual buildings, vehicles, and other objects. In addition to technical skills, this class also focuses on creativity and critical thinking. Students will be challenged to come up with their own designs and find solutions to design problems. They will also learn how to give and receive feedback to improve their work. By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in digital design and will be able to use their skills to bring their ideas to life on the computer. This class will not only prepare students for more advanced design courses in high school, but also teach them valuable skills that can be applied to various fields such as architecture, engineering, and graphic design.
