Week 6 Part 2

Today we continued our Halloween theme with the book "The Little Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat" By Lucille Colandro and "AlphaOops! His for Halloween" By Alethea Kontis.

We learned all about Bats, did you know bats see with their noses? It's their sense of smell that allows them to hunt at night. So we made smelly bats and had the kids make guesses of what each bat smells like. It was fun using our own sense of smell all the kids had some fun ideas of what each smell reminded them of. We also made H is for Halloween! Yarn Bats, Felt Pumpkin face Emotions, Bat Hand Prints, and Played Pumpkin Seed Counting and Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe.

Yarn Bats was a great activity. We gave the kids a long string of yarn for them to cut up into small pieces. Then they glued them onto a bat.
