G is for Gingerbread Man

We had an amazing day today. G is our letter of the week and today we read "The Gingerbread Man Loose at School" By Laura Murray and "The Gingerbread Man" By Jim Aylesworth. Our color is Green, Number is 4, and Heart is the Shape of the week. We played Roll a Gingerbread Man, Had a Gingerbread Science Experiment, Gingerbread Charting, Gingerbread Manhunt, and Decorated Gingerbread Houses. We had lots of free play and played Ring Around the Rosies.

Roll-A-Gingerbread-Man this was another cool idea by Mrs. Kelsey, the kids rolled a large dice and depending on what side it landed they got to pick the decorations for the Gingerbread man craft project.

Gingerbread Cookie Science Experiment. To observe and see which of these liquids dissolves the cookie and which of these liquids keeps it's shape. We also used our sense of smell to smell each liquid. :)

Gingerbread Cookie Charting- What did you eat first?

The Gingerbread Manhunt! We put our Gingerbread Man in the oven to bake and when we checked on them they were GONE! They left a note: Run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man! But they left some clues for us to find them...

We made Gingerbread Houses for our Gingerbread Man so they won't run away again.

The Gingerbread Houses turned out beautiful and the Gingerbread Man never ran away again :)

Keeping with the weeks theme, for lunch we had green spinach tortilla wraps with egg whites, and chicken breakfast sausage and cheese, a banana hazelnut spread sushi roll, and 4 grapes.
